Rubble Lipstick: The Crux of Mudcake
Mudcake is the world created by Lou Rose, a raw, emotional landscape shaped through material exploration and raw expression. Within this world exists Rubble Lipstick, an immersive installation developed as part of Lou's final thesis at OCAD University. Rubble Lipstick draws visitors deep into the textures, tensions and tenderness of Mudcake, using video works displayed on CRTV TVs, an 8x4 ft hand-sewn canvas, textile sculptures, paintings, sound, and multiple durational performances. Entering Mudcake means stepping into a world where discarded materials, personal memories and emotional residue collide.
